DISCOVER SOUTHERN AFRICA
NAMIBIA   15 Days tour
('All-in-One' 15 days- Highlights tour) 15 days in Namibia = 15 days there and back from SA (return flights)
This is a favourite tour of many guests, and has been developed over many years' experience and feedback.
Tour the most sought-after destinations in Namibia, with Touring South Africa as your specialist. Our standard is high, and you will relax every night in en-suite accommodation, unless not available at the time.
This tour is popularly done as an escorted self-drive tour (by Touring South Africa as Tour leaders), or it is done as a group in a large enough vehicle suitable for the Namibian conditions.
Day 1
Depart in the early morning from Johannesburg, to Windhoek Airport. We meet our Driver and Guide, and set off through the capital city of Windhoek, which lies on the Khomas Hochland. We pass by Rehoboth, the main center of the "Baster" people. Many scenic views and landscapes are to be enjoyed here in the late afternoon. We see the thin strip of the Kalahari, which protrudes into the eastern parts of Namibia.
Overnight at Marienthal area (Dinner, Bed and Breakfast included).
Day 2
Drive further on the edge of the Kalahari, a land of many parallel, habited dunes, and sociable weaver nests. Visit a few of the most important historic sites in Keetmanshoop, and relax through the open landscape of the Karas area, to reach Ai-Ais, the hot springs in the Fish River Canyon, where you relax at the warm mineral bath in the under-roof pool and enjoy the mountains around.
Overnight at Ai-Ais area (Dinner, Bed and Breakfast included).
Day 3
After breakfast, we make our way to the main lookout point over the Fish River Canyon, which is in size second to the Grand Canyon in the USA.
The immensity of this magnificent landscape is truly breath-taking. The towering rock faces and deep ravines were formed by water erosion, plus the collapse of the valley due to movements in the earth’s crust over 500 million years ago, made it into a canyon within an older canyon. Today the canyon measures 160km long, up to 27km wide, and almost 550m at its deepest.
We continue our journey on the discovery of this beautiful stretched out land, past the town of Aus, to Luderitz, which represent an era of German occupation and influence in the diamond mining area of the previous South West Africa colony. We will be fortunate to see the famous wild horses of Aus in the area.
Overnight for two nights, on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis, in the Luderitz/Aus area.
Day 4
Today we explore the ghost town of Kolmanskuppe, on the edge of the Namib Desert.
Later we take a drive out to Diaz Point, where we visit the stone replica of the cross which Bartholomius Dias planted on his way to find the southern tip of Africa in 1487. On our way there, we hope to see a few flamingos in the shallow waters around Luderitz.
We spend time in the quaint town of Luderitz and take a walking tour to a colonial German house, and the Felsenkirche, the church on the rocks.
We return later to relax at our accommodation in the Luderitz/Aus area.

NAMIBIA SOUTH and SWAKOP
(Explorer tour) 9 days in Namibia = 11 days there and back from SA
Our Explorer series give you time to explore, and to relax.
Southern Namibia, from the Gariep River as the southern border, through Ai-Ais up to Windhoek, and west to Luderitz and Swakopmund, is what we cover on this exploratory tour of the beautiful southern part of Namibia.
This region abounds with a beauty of awesome sunrises and sunsets, among interesting rock formations, clear starry skies and far vistas. Dunes are so neat, it corrects itself daily. Similarly the rest af Namibia to the north is to be experienced as well.
The Fish River Canyon is in size second to the Grand Canyon of the USA, a deep wide dry ravine of magnitude.
Luderitz is a town with many German architectural treasures, and outside lies the ghost town of Kolmanskuppe, not to be missed. In the area you will see the first of many dunes, on the edge of the oldest desert in the world. Beautiful mountains, tainted in different colours are awaiting as you travel towards Sesriem and the Sossusvlei area. There you can indulge in the awe of precisely formed red dunes in the Namib Desert, with yet another canyon carved out in the seasonal river bed.
The mountains continue to inspire many a photographer, and crossing over some rugged terrain and flat sand in the desert is an experience to remember forever.
Visit the interesting town of Swakopmund, and Walvis Bay, passing the Khomas Hochland, Welwitscia plains and the Moon landscape, do adventure in the dunes of the Namib desert, and take in the rural vistas of the Erongo region. On your journey on to Windhoek, enjoy the remoteness and see the Spitskoppe, on your way to Windhoek. Return relaxed and refreshed after an expedition into far Namibia.
The northern part of Namibia is equally interesing and covers another aspect of exploration. This is experienced with our Namibia North and Swakop tour.
